What you will do
• Foster Carer Assessments: Complete comprehensive assessments of prospective foster carers and prepare detailed, high-quality reports.
• Carer Support and Supervision: Provide ongoing supervision, guidance, and support to foster carers to promote placement stability and positive outcomes.
• Care Planning: Contribute to care planning and placement support, ensuring that children's needs remain central to decision-making.
• Multi-Agency Working: Collaborate with social workers, education professionals, health services, and partner agencies to coordinate effective support.
• Training and Development: Support foster carers through training and development activities to enhance skills and confidence.
• Annual Reviews: Undertake foster carer reviews and ensure compliance with fostering regulations and standards.
• Safeguarding: Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, ensuring children remain safe and protected.
• Team Participation: Attend team meetings, peer supervision sessions, and contribute to the development of fostering services.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, timely, and professional case records, reports, and assessments.
Qualifications / Requirements
• Social Work Qualification: Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Registration: Current Social Work England registration.
• Experience: Previous experience within Children's Social Care, particularly within fostering, kinship care, or placement services.
• Fostering Knowledge: Strong understanding of fostering regulations, standards, and safeguarding legislation.
• Assessment Skills: Experience completing fostering assessments and support plans.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Partnership Working: Proven ability to work effectively with foster carers, children, families, and partner agencies.
• Organisational Skills: Strong case management and time management skills.
