What you will do
- Respond promptly and effectively to incoming referrals, making informed threshold decisions in line with safeguarding criteria.
- Complete Child and Family Assessments within statutory timescales, identifying risks, needs, and strengths.
- Develop and implement robust care and support plans while managing a busy and varied caseload.
- Work directly with children and families, building meaningful relationships and delivering timely interventions.
- Collaborate closely with multi‑agency partners including police, health, and education professionals.
- Contribute to strategy discussions, meetings, and decision‑making forums.
- Maintain accurate, high‑quality case records and support audit and quality assurance activity.
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England.
- Substantial experience within Children’s Services, particularly Duty and Assessment, Child in Need, and Child Protection.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and statutory frameworks.
- Confident managing complex cases in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and report‑writing skills.
Desirable experience includes working within a local authority, familiarity with systems such as Liquidlogic or Mosaic, court work exposure, and holding a driving licence with access to a vehicle.
