What you will do:

  • Respond to initial referrals and enquiries, conducting triage and risk assessments to determine the level of intervention required.

  • Undertake statutory assessments, including Child and Family Assessments, in accordance with the Children Act 1989 and local safeguarding procedures.

  • Manage a caseload of children and families subject to Child in Need (Section 17) and Child Protection (Section 47) processes.

  • Participate in strategy discussions, child protection conferences, and core group meetings, ensuring robust multi-agency collaboration.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications: Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent) with evidence of continued professional development.

  • Registration & Compliance: Registered with Social Work England; knowledge of relevant legislation and frameworks including the Children Act 1989 and 2004 and Working Together to Safeguard Children. Enhanced DBS clearance required.
