Social Worker CP Chair within Children's Services in Ealing, earning £45.20 per hour. This exciting ongoing full-time locum opportunity offers 35 hours per week and the chance to play a pivotal role in safeguarding children and young people across the borough. What you will do

• Child Protection Conferences: Chair Child Protection Conferences and ensure that all decisions are child-focused, evidence-based, and promote safety and wellbeing.
• Strategy Meetings: Lead complex strategy meetings, including those involving allegations against professionals and positions of trust.
• Safeguarding Advice: Act as a lead advisor on child protection and safeguarding matters, providing guidance to colleagues and partner agencies.
• Quality Assurance: Monitor, review, and evaluate safeguarding and child protection practices to maintain high standards and drive service improvement.
• Multi-Agency Working: Promote effective partnership working with health, education, police, and other agencies involved in safeguarding children.
• Participation and Engagement: Ensure children, young people, and families are actively involved in decision-making processes and have their voices heard.
• Auditing: Undertake audits and reviews relating to children subject to Child Protection Plans and safeguarding interventions.
• Policy and Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, statutory guidance, and best practice to ensure compliance and effective service delivery.
• Training Delivery: Contribute to safeguarding and child protection training programmes, sharing expertise and supporting workforce development.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and timely electronic records, reports, and documentation in line with statutory requirements.
• Service Development: Participate in strategic planning and service improvement initiatives to strengthen safeguarding practice across the Council.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Social Work Qualification: Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Registration: Current Social Work England registration.
• Experience: Significant post-qualification experience within Children's Social Care and safeguarding services.
• Child Protection Expertise: Extensive knowledge and experience of child protection processes, safeguarding practice, and statutory responsibilities.
• Chairing Experience: Experience chairing Child Protection Conferences, safeguarding meetings, or complex multi-agency forums is highly desirable.
• Legislative Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Children Act 1989, Children Act 2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and related legislation.
• Quality Assurance Skills: Experience reviewing practice, auditing cases, and contributing to service improvement activities.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and report-writing skills.
• Partnership Working: Ability to build effective relationships with professionals, agencies, children, and families.
