Seven Resourcing is currently recruiting for an experienced Children’s Services Team Manager to join a busy Children’s Social Care service within a London local authority. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and skilled social care leader with strong experience managing frontline teams within statutory children’s services.
The successful candidate will lead a team of social workers and personal advisors, ensuring high-quality practice, effective case management, and strong performance across safeguarding and children in need services.
The Role
As Children’s Services Team Manager, you will be responsible for the operational leadership and management of a frontline social work team. You will ensure that children and families receive timely, high-quality interventions in line with statutory requirements and best practice.
You will report to a Service Manager and play a key role in driving performance, supporting staff development, and maintaining a strong safeguarding culture.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the day-to-day operations of a Children’s Social Care team
- Supervising and supporting social workers and personal advisors
- Ensuring high-quality safeguarding practice and statutory compliance
- Overseeing case management for children in need and child protection cases
- Monitoring performance, caseloads, and service delivery outcomes
- Providing supervision, guidance, and professional development to staff
- Contributing to service improvement and organisational change initiatives
- Working collaboratively with partner agencies and senior leaders
- Ensuring timely and effective decision-making in complex cases
- Promoting a strong, child-centred safeguarding culture
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
- Significant experience in Children’s Social Care at Team Manager level
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, statutory frameworks, and care planning
- Proven ability to manage and lead frontline social work teams
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- Experience working in high-pressure, fast-paced statutory environments
