What you will do:
- Lead and manage child protection practices within Family Help and Safeguarding.
- Promote consistent and high-quality child protection practices, especially focusing on diverse ethnic minority communities.
- Ensure all work complies with statutory requirements as well as departmental and Safeguarding Board policies.
- Serve as a local consultant on child protection matters, providing essential guidance and support.
- Foster excellent working relationships and develop networks that support comprehensive child protection efforts.
- Chair case conferences and Child in Need (CIN) reviews, ensuring all practices align with established guidelines.
- Quality assure child protection cases and integrate insights to inform and promote best practices.
- Advise on innovative service procurement strategies, maximizing alternative funding sources.
- Develop and implement systems for recording and evaluating case decisions.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of records per statutory and practice requisites.
- Contribute to policy development, offering insights to shape impactful departmental guidelines.
- Manage statistical reporting and effectively represent the head of service when needed.
- Identify training needs and participate actively in professional development programs.
- Engage with management information systems and attend necessary training sessions.
- Flexibly undertake additional duties as directed by senior management.
