Purpose of the Role
To provide high-quality social work interventions for adults experiencing mental health difficulties, ensuring statutory duties are met while promoting recovery, independence, and wellbeing.
What you will do

Conduct Care Act assessments, support planning, and reviews for individuals with mental health needs.

Apply the principles of the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act in practice.

Collaborate with health professionals, housing, voluntary sector, and other agencies to deliver integrated care.

Manage a complex caseload, prioritising safeguarding, risk management, and timely interventions.

Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings and contribute to discharge planning from inpatient settings.

Maintain accurate case records, ensuring compliance with data protection and confidentiality standards.

Respond to urgent situations promptly and adapt to changing priorities.
Essential Criteria

Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.

Experience in mental health social work, including statutory assessments and safeguarding.

Sound knowledge of relevant legislation: Care Act, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act.

Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
