What you will do:

• Manage a complex caseload of children subject to Section 47 (Child Protection) and Section 17 (Child in Need) processes, ensuring high-quality care and assessment.

• Undertake and oversee advanced statutory assessments, risk assessments, and care planning, ensuring timely and effective interventions to safeguard children.

• Provide exceptional practice leadership, mentoring, and support to social workers, promoting reflective and evidence-based practice at every step.

• Lead and contribute actively to strategy discussions, participate meaningfully in child protection conferences, and engage effectively in core group meetings.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Qualifications: Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent). Evidence of continued professional development is required, with post-qualifying training desirable.

• Registration and compliance: Must be registered with Social Work England, with a solid understanding of legislative frameworks such as the Children Act 1989 and 2004, and Working Together to Safeguard Children.

• DBS requirement: Enhanced DBS clearance is required.
