This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Safeguarding Team within Birmingham Children’s Services. You will work closely with children and families facing significant child protection concerns, delivering high‑quality statutory interventions that prioritise safety and positive outcomes.

What you will do

• Manage a complex caseload of children subject to Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) plans.
• Complete statutory assessments, including Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries.
• Lead safeguarding investigations and undertake robust risk assessment and management.
• Prepare detailed court reports and provide evidence when required.
• Develop, implement, and review outcome‑focused care and protection plans.
• Work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners including police, health, and education professionals.
• Provide guidance and informal mentoring to Newly Qualified Social Workers and less experienced colleagues.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant case recording in line with statutory requirements.
• Contribute to audits, service development, and safeguarding reviews to drive practice improvement.
