Birmingham Children’s Trust is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Safeguarding Team. This role focuses on working with children and families facing significant child protection concerns, delivering high‑quality statutory interventions that prioritise safety and positive outcomes.
What you will do
- Manage a complex caseload of children subject to Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) plans.
- Complete statutory assessments including Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries.
- Lead child protection investigations and undertake robust risk assessment and management.
- Prepare high‑quality court reports, statements, and provide evidence when required.
- Develop, implement, and review outcome‑focused care and protection plans.
- Work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners including police, health, and education services.
- Provide mentoring, guidance, and informal supervision to Newly Qualified Social Workers and junior colleagues.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant case records in line with statutory requirements.
- Contribute to audits, case reviews, and service improvement activity across the safeguarding service.
