What you will do

• Manage a complex caseload of children and families requiring statutory intervention, assessment, planning, and review.
• Undertake Child in Need, Child Protection, Looked After Children, and court-related work in accordance with legislative requirements.
• Complete high-quality assessments, risk analyses, reports, and care plans within statutory timescales.
• Lead safeguarding activity, including strategy discussions, child protection conferences, and multi-agency safeguarding processes.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• A degree or postgraduate qualification in Social Work is essential.
• Evidence of ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD) is required.
• A Practice Educator Award or equivalent is desirable.

Registration & Compliance

• Registered with Social Work England (SWE).
• Sound knowledge of relevant legislative acts such as the Children Act 1989 and 2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and other frameworks.

Experience

• Significant post-qualification experience in UK Children’s Social Care.
• Proven expertise in managing Child in Need, Child Protection, PLO, and Care Proceedings cases.
• Experience of working within a locality or safeguarding team environment is essential.
