What you will do

  • Manage a complex caseload of children with disabilities, conducting statutory assessments, child and family assessments, reviews, and care planning.
  • Lead safeguarding enquiries and interventions, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation such as the Children Act 1989.
  • Develop outcome-focused plans that highlight the child's strengths, needs, and aspirations, all while ensuring the child's voice is at the forefront of decision-making.
  • Chair and actively contribute to multi-agency meetings with professionals from education, health, SEND services, and partner agencies.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW, or an equivalent recognised social work qualification.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Practice Educator Award or supervisory qualification is desirable.

Registration & Compliance

  • Current Social Work England registration.
  • Thorough understanding of key legislative frameworks including the Children Act 1989, SEND Code of Practice, and more.

Experience

  • Experience in managing complex caseloads within Children's Social Care is essential.
  • Ability to navigate diverse and challenging family dynamics.
