What you will do
- Hold and manage a complex caseload of children and families requiring statutory intervention, including Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children cases.
- Undertake timely assessments, formulate evidence-based plans, and review progress to improve outcomes for children and young people.
- Lead safeguarding investigations and Section 47 enquiries, ensuring risks are appropriately identified and managed.
- Prepare high-quality reports for child protection conferences, court proceedings, permanence planning meetings, and statutory reviews.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Degree in Social Work, BA (Hons) Social Work, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Evidence of continuous professional development relevant to children's social care.
- Practice Educator Award or relevant supervisory qualification desirable.
Registration & Compliance
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Acts, Working Together framework, and human rights laws.
Experience
- Significant post-qualification experience within Children's Social Care.
- Experience managing complex safeguarding, child protection, and court-related cases.
- Strong knowledge of assessment and long-term intervention services.
