Additional information:

• Working Pattern: Monday to Friday
• Hours: 08:30-16:30
• Clinics: 09:00-13:00 and 14:00-16:00
• Specialist Diabetic Foot Service
• Non-Medical Prescribing qualification required

What you will do:

• Deliver expert care for high-risk diabetic foot patients.
• Conduct complex diabetic foot assessments and reviews.
• Manage cases of diabetic foot ulceration, infection, and high-risk presentations.
• Provide inpatient diabetic foot reviews and support on ward rounds.
• Implement specialist wound care interventions.
• Formulate and review treatment and management plans.
• Support urgent diabetic foot assessment and treatment pathways.
• Participate actively in diabetic foot MDT clinics.
• Collaborate closely with Diabetes, Vascular, Orthopaedics, Community Podiatry, and Primary Care teams.
• Ensure compliance with NICE diabetic foot standards and the National Diabetes Foot Care Audit requirements.

Requirements:

• BSc in Podiatry or equivalent.
• HCPC registration.
• Band 7 Podiatrist experience.
• Non-Medical Prescribing qualification.
• POM-A Local Anaesthesia Certificate.
• POM-S Sale and Supply Certificate.
• Postgraduate qualification in Diabetes and the Foot.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
• Extensive post-graduate NHS experience.
• Experience in managing complex diabetic foot patients and providing specialist care.
• Skills in diabetes and high-risk foot assessment.
• Mastery of complex wound care.
• Experience with an acute multidisciplinary diabetes team.
• Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Experience in audit and writing reports.

Desirable Requirements:

• Membership of relevant professional bodies.
• Experience leading diabetic foot MDT pathways.
• Experience in supporting service development initiatives.
