What you will do

• Assess and manage adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders.

• Oversee stroke and neurological rehabilitation caseloads and deliver evidence-based interventions.

• Develop and implement tailored treatment programmes to support patient recovery.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate effective discharge planning and community rehabilitation pathways.

• Maintain precise clinical records and reports.

• Participate in service development and clinical governance activities to ensure high-quality standards.

Requirements

• A recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree or equivalent and HCPC registration.

• At least 12 months of experience with adult swallowing disorders, communication difficulties, stroke, and neurology caseloads.

• Skilled in working within multidisciplinary teams and knowledge of evidence-based assessments and interventions.

• Familiarity with national policies, current research in adult neurology, and advanced computer literacy.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently.

• A current UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes are essential.

Desirable Qualities

• Registered membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and specialised dysphagia training are desirable.

• Show an awareness of clinical governance and audit processes, with knowledge of managing multicultural and multilingual caseloads.
