What you will do

• Manage a caseload of residents, addressing their moving, handling, equipment, and adaptation needs.
• Conduct Occupational Therapy assessments using strengths-based approaches.
• Support residents to maximise their independence and achieve their personal goals.
• Recommend and prescribe a range of assistive equipment and adaptations.
• Complete complex moving and handling assessments, developing and implementing safe support plans.
• Work closely with residents, families, carers, and care providers to achieve positive outcomes.
• Operate the Occupational Therapy duty desk, screening referrals and responding to urgent cases.
• Support, mentor, and advise Enabling Independence Officers and Trusted Assessors.
• Complete detailed housing reports and undertake property visits.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive case records and documentation.
• Contribute to service development initiatives and multidisciplinary working practices.

Requirements

• Professional Qualification: Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• HCPC Registration: Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years' Occupational Therapy experience, ideally within Adult Social Care.
• Specialist Knowledge: Experience of major adaptations, Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) processes, and complex moving and handling assessments.
• Safeguarding Expertise: Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and experience working with vulnerable adults and children.
• Communication Skills: Excellent organisational, communication, and report-writing skills with the ability to work independently.
