We are supporting a highly regarded specialist SEN school seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate SEND Teacher to join their team from September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a well-established provision supporting children and young people with a range of complex learning needs, including Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), physical disabilities, communication needs and complex medical conditions.

The Role

You will lead a small class of pupils with complex additional needs, delivering highly personalised learning programmes designed around each learner's EHCP outcomes, communication profile and developmental needs.

Working alongside a highly experienced multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in creating engaging learning opportunities that support communication, independence, social development, emotional wellbeing and life skills.

Key responsibilities include:

Planning and delivering creative, engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs

Supporting pupils with Autism, PMLD, SLD, sensory processing differences and complex medical needs

Developing communication, independence, emotional regulation and personal development outcomes

Working collaboratively with Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and wider professionals

Using a range of communication strategies including AAC, Makaton, sensory-based learning and intensive interaction approaches

Contributing to EHCP reviews, annual reviews and target setting

Monitoring and recording pupil progress through personalised assessment frameworks

Creating a safe, structured and positive learning environment that enables pupils to thrive

Building strong relationships with parents, carers and external professionals

Supporting pupils with personal care, mobility and health needs where required

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

A passion for supporting children and young people with SEND

Strong classroom management and differentiation skills

Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities

A patient, adaptable and nurturing approach to teaching

The ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team

A commitment to inclusive, person-centred and child-focused education

Experience working within a specialist SEND setting is desirable but not essential
