What you will do:

  • Manage a caseload of service users by conducting comprehensive assessments, risk assessments, and creating recovery plans tailored to individual needs
  • Support service users through the full treatment process, from entry to recovery, ensuring continuity of care and conducting regular reviews of progress
  • Deliver structured one-to-one interventions and facilitate group sessions addressing substance misuse, relapse prevention, and wellbeing
  • Reduce drug and alcohol-related harm through evidence-based interventions, health promotion, and safeguarding practices
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including clinicians, mental health specialists, and social care providers to coordinate comprehensive, holistic care pathways

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, Substance Misuse, or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards it
  • Relevant training in motivational interviewing or psychosocial interventions is desirable
  • Enhanced DBS clearance is required
  • A solid working knowledge of safeguarding laws such as the Children Act 1989/2004 and the Care Act 2014
  • Understanding of CQC standards and data protection/GDPR requirements

Experience:

  • Experience working with individuals affected by drug and/or alcohol misuse in community, healthcare, or criminal justice settings
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload and deliver person-centred recovery interventions
  • Experience in supporting vulnerable adults, including those with complex needs such as mental health or homelessness
