What you will do:
- Manage a complex caseload of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children and care leavers, delivering statutory social work interventions.
- Undertake Child & Family Assessments, Human Rights Assessments, and Merton-compliant age assessments where required.
- Develop, implement, and review care plans and pathway plans in line with Children Act duties and corporate parenting responsibilities.
- Support young people through the asylum and immigration process, ensuring their welfare, rights, and access to appropriate services are upheld.
Person Specification
Qualifications:
- Degree in Social Work (BA / MA or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
Registration & Compliance:
- Strong working knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and 2004, Leaving Care legislation, and statutory guidance for UASC.
- Understanding of immigration and asylum frameworks, including the National Transfer Scheme.
- Awareness of safeguarding frameworks, Human Rights legislation, and Equality Act 2010.
- Enhanced DBS clearance required.
