What you will do:
- Lead on the assessment and management of urgent safeguarding referrals in line with statutory frameworks, including Section 47 enquiries and emergency adult interventions.
- Provide professional advice and oversight to EDT Social Workers, supporting complex decision-making and risk management.
- Undertake immediate assessments, including home visits when required, to ensure the safety and well-being of children and vulnerable adults.
- Authorise emergency placements, including fostering and residential provisions, ensuring compliance with placement regulations.
- Liaise effectively with multi-agency partners such as the Police, NHS services, and on-call managers to coordinate emergency responses.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to safeguarding practice.
Registration and Compliance:
- Registered with Social Work England (SWE).
- Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989 & 2004, Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
