What you will do:

  • Manage a caseload of referrals, completing statutory assessments per the Children Act 1989/2004 and Working Together to Safeguard Children guidance.
  • Undertake Section 47 enquiries, conduct risk assessments, and create evidence-based care plans.
  • Chair and contribute to strategy discussions, child protection conferences, and multi-agency meetings.
  • Directly engage with children and families, ensuring their views inform the assessment and planning processes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case recordings in accordance with council policies and Ofsted expectations.
  • Collaborate effectively with partner agencies, such as health, education, and the police, to ensure coordinated service delivery.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications: Degree in Social Work (BA / MA or equivalent).
  • Registration & Compliance: Must be registered with Social Work England. Demonstrate sound knowledge of legislation such as the Children Act 1989/2004, Care Act 2014, and the Mental Capacity Act. Must be familiar with safeguarding frameworks, statutory guidance, and local authority procedures.
