What you will do:

- Perform venepuncture safely and efficiently, adhering to approved procedures.
- Correctly identify patients using established protocols, ensuring exemplary care.
- Clearly explain procedures to put nervous patients at ease and reassure them.
- Accurately label, process, and transport blood specimens to the laboratory.
- Maintain precise patient records, utilising both electronic and paper-based systems.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control policies, including stringent hand hygiene and PPE requirements.
- Safely dispose of sharps and clinical waste, aligning with health and safety guidelines.
- Monitor and restock phlebotomy supplies and equipment to ensure smooth operations.
- Promptly report any incidents, near misses, and specimen collection issues.
- Uphold patient confidentiality in compliance with GDPR and NHS policies.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure top-notch patient care.
