Locum Occupational Therapist within Housing Team (Adaptations and Equipment) in Liverpool UK, earning £37.83 hourly. What you will do:
- Complete strength-based assessments for people with disabilities within the City Council's eligibility criteria, applying the Care Act 2014 and other relevant legislation.
- Recommend and organise the supply of equipment and structural adaptations to meet assessed needs.
- Demonstrate to people with disabilities and their carers how to use the equipment and adaptations provided.
- Liaise with other professionals, statutory, voluntary, and community resources, ensuring the best possible services are provided within available resources.
- Manage a diverse workload, aligning with Adult Social Care priorities and City Council policies.
- Stay informed about statutory obligations and the legal framework, including Care Act 2014 guidelines.
- Maintain accurate electronic social care records, manage a diverse caseload and action outcomes within agreed service standards.
- Utilise appropriate training and development opportunities to advance your professional development.
- Guide the development of Occupational Therapy Assistants and students on placements.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to support collaborative service delivery.
- Ensure assessments are strength-based and outcome-driven.
- Establish partnerships with people with disabilities and carers, with a focus on consultation and participation.
- Enhance Occupational Therapy assessment functions within the service.
Requirements of the Occupational Therapist:
- Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
- Recent UK experience working as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience in the NHS
- Registered with the HCPC
