What you will do

Laboratory Testing: Perform routine and specialist analytical testing on biological samples in Haematology and Blood Transfusion.
Quality Control: Ensure all work meets current policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to support patient diagnosis and care.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate laboratory records, reports, and documentation.
Equipment Management: Oversee laboratory equipment and ensure appropriate stock and maintenance.
Training Support: Provide guidance and support to junior staff and laboratory assistants.
Service Development: Contribute to continuous improvement, research, and development within the department.

Qualifications / Requirements

Registration: HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ NHS experience in Haematology and Blood Transfusion.
Skills: Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and understanding of laboratory processes.
Driving: A UK driving licence is desirable for travel between sites.
