Hours: 37 Hours Per Week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00 (minimum 3 days per week office-based)

Pay Rate: PAYE £33.50 per hour | Umbrella £41.26 per hour

Seven Resourcing are currently recruiting for an experienced Advanced Social Work Practitioner to join a Children’s Social Care service within Bedford Borough Council. This is a senior safeguarding role within a local authority setting, requiring strong MASH experience and a solid background in statutory Children’s Services.

This opportunity is ideal for a qualified Social Worker with advanced practitioner experience in Children’s Services, particularly within MASH, safeguarding, and multi-agency decision-making environments.

Job Purpose
To provide advanced-level Social Work practice within Children’s Services, supporting safeguarding decision-making, complex case management, and professional oversight within a multi-agency safeguarding hub environment. The role includes supervising Social Workers and contributing to high-quality safeguarding outcomes for children aged 0–18.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced Social Work practice within a Children’s Services/MASH environment
  • Undertake complex safeguarding assessments and support multi-agency decision-making
  • Provide supervision and professional oversight to 2–3 Social Workers
  • Work within statutory Children’s Social Care frameworks (0–18 age group)
  • Ensure high-quality case recording, analysis, and safeguarding documentation
  • Contribute to strategy discussions and safeguarding planning
  • Work closely with multi-agency partners including health, police, and education
  • Support duty processes and manage complex referrals within MASH
  • Ensure safeguarding thresholds are appropriately applied and escalated
  • Promote best practice in child protection and contextual safeguarding

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration (or equivalent)
  • Significant experience within Children’s Social Care (local authority essential)
  • Proven experience working within MASH (mandatory)
  • Experience as an Advanced Practitioner within safeguarding services
  • Strong background in child protection, assessment, and risk management
  • Experience supervising or supporting Social Workers
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-agency environment
  • Strong understanding of statutory safeguarding legislation and procedures

Additional Information

  • Minimum 3 days per week office-based attendance required initially
  • Local authority Children’s Services experience is essential
  • MASH Advanced Practitioner experience is mandatory
