What you will do:
- Assess new referrals to the service, identifying needs relating to access, safety, and independence in the home environment.
- Recommend and coordinate necessary adaptations and equipment based on your assessments.
- Support junior staff members within the SSOT section of the team to enhance team performance.
- Complete onward referrals as required to ensure service users receive the required support.
- Produce comprehensive reports and attend the Major Adaptations Panel as needed to discuss cases and progress.
To thrive in this role, you will need to be a highly experienced social services occupational therapist as this is a distinct role separate from health OT. You must be knowledgeable about assessing home environments and recommending appropriate adaptations and equipment. Familiarity with the Care Act and the Disabled Facilities Grants process is essential.
A valid HCPC registration and a full driver's licence are required for this role as it necessitates travel to various locations in Waltham Forest.
