Pay Rate: £24.48 per hour (PAYE) | £32.80 per hour (Umbrella)

Seven Resourcing are recruiting for an experienced Social Worker – Learning Disabilities Team to join a local authority service in Slough on a short-term temporary assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified practitioner with strong experience in adult social care, learning disabilities, safeguarding, and capacity-based assessments.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake person-centred assessments with adults with learning disabilities
• Support individuals to complete supported self-assessments and make informed choices about care and support
• Carry out assessments of risk, need, and mental capacity, ensuring appropriate safeguarding responses
• Apply professional social work knowledge within adult social care practice
• Support service users to access community-based services and appropriate support networks
• Facilitate care planning, including short- and long-term support arrangements
• Work in line with statutory responsibilities, including safeguarding and eligibility criteria
• Collaborate with health professionals, families, and multi-agency partners

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker with relevant registration (Social Work England)
• Experience working within adult social care, ideally learning disabilities teams
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, capacity assessments, and care planning
• Knowledge of community care services, including support planning and commissioning
• Familiarity with the Mental Capacity Act, Continuing Healthcare, and safeguarding frameworks
• Excellent communication and case management skills
• Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced statutory environment
