We're seeking an experienced social worker to join our Adults Social Care Safeguarding Team in Blackburn for a locum position offering a competitive rate of £30.00 per hour. This exciting role spans a full 12-month period, with a work schedule set from 09:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday. What you will do:

• Undertake statutory safeguarding duties, including leading and coordinating Section 42 enquiries under the Care Act 2014.

• Conduct proportionate risk assessments, formulate safeguarding plans, and perform Mental Capacity Act assessments, incorporating the principles of Making Safeguarding Personal throughout your practice.

• Manage a complex caseload involving safeguarding concerns such as self-neglect, domestic abuse, exploitation, and organisational abuse.

• Chair and contribute actively to safeguarding strategy meetings, case conferences, and multi-agency reviews.

Person Specification

• Qualifications:

  • A degree in Social Work or an equivalent recognised qualification is essential.

• Registration and Compliance:

  • You must be registered with Social Work England and possess an enhanced DBS clearance.

  • A strong understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and associated statutory guidance is required to excel in this role.
