Occupational Therapist within the Children's Services Team in Hounslow, earning £42.00 per hour. This exciting full-time locum opportunity offers 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 08:45am to 05:00pm. Working within a dedicated Children's Services team, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people by assessing their needs, recommending equipment and adaptations, and helping to improve their independence and quality of life.

What you will do

Assessments: Conduct occupational therapy assessments for children requiring specialist equipment and home adaptations.
Equipment Recommendations: Identify and recommend appropriate equipment solutions to support independence and daily living.
Home Adaptations: Assess the need for both minor and major housing adaptations and coordinate implementation with relevant teams.
Multi-Agency Working: Collaborate effectively with families, housing services, education professionals, social workers, and healthcare teams.
Care Planning: Contribute to the development and implementation of person-centred care and support plans.
Report Writing: Produce high-quality assessment reports, recommendations, and progress updates.
Team Contribution: Participate actively in team meetings, case discussions, and training sessions.
Professional Practice: Stay informed of current legislation, guidance, and best practices relevant to children's occupational therapy and social care services.

Qualifications / Requirements

Occupational Therapy Qualification: Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent recognised qualification.
Registration: Current HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
Children's Services Experience: Previous experience working with children and young people within social care, health, or community settings.
Assessment Skills: Strong experience undertaking equipment assessments and recommending home adaptations.
Report Writing: Ability to produce detailed, accurate, and professional reports.
Multi-Disciplinary Working: Proven experience working collaboratively with a range of professionals and agencies.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.

Desirable Requirements

Local Authority Experience: Previous experience working within a Local Authority setting.
Children's Disability Services: Experience supporting children with disabilities and complex needs.
Housing Adaptations Knowledge: Understanding of housing adaptation processes and relevant legislation.
