Occupational Therapist within the Children's Services Team in Hounslow, earning £42.00 per hour. This exciting full-time locum opportunity offers 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 08:45am to 05:00pm. Working within a dedicated Children's Services team, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people by assessing their needs, recommending equipment and adaptations, and helping to improve their independence and quality of life.

What you will do

• Assessments: Conduct occupational therapy assessments for children requiring specialist equipment and home adaptations.
• Equipment Recommendations: Identify and recommend appropriate equipment solutions to support independence and daily living.
• Home Adaptations: Assess the need for both minor and major housing adaptations and coordinate implementation with relevant teams.
• Multi-Agency Working: Collaborate effectively with families, housing services, education professionals, social workers, and healthcare teams.
• Care Planning: Contribute to the development and implementation of person-centred care and support plans.
• Report Writing: Produce high-quality assessment reports, recommendations, and progress updates.
• Team Contribution: Participate actively in team meetings, case discussions, and training sessions.
• Professional Practice: Stay informed of current legislation, guidance, and best practices relevant to children's occupational therapy and social care services.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Occupational Therapy Qualification: Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Registration: Current HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
• Children's Services Experience: Previous experience working with children and young people within social care, health, or community settings.
• Assessment Skills: Strong experience undertaking equipment assessments and recommending home adaptations.
• Report Writing: Ability to produce detailed, accurate, and professional reports.
• Multi-Disciplinary Working: Proven experience working collaboratively with a range of professionals and agencies.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.

Desirable Requirements

• Local Authority Experience: Previous experience working within a Local Authority setting.
• Children's Disability Services: Experience supporting children with disabilities and complex needs.
• Housing Adaptations Knowledge: Understanding of housing adaptation processes and relevant legislation.
