An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist specialised in Children's Housing Adaptations, based in the vibrant city of Manchester. This locum position offers a competitive pay rate of up to £35 per hour and begins in October 2026. As an Occupational Therapist in this role, you will carry out city-wide assessments for children requiring complex and customised equipment along with minor and major adaptations. The MEAP team conducts home assessments for children with both physical and hidden disabilities, ensuring their environments facilitate best living practices.


What you will do:

- Conduct thorough Moving and Handling risk assessments and deliver training to parents and carers.
- Advise on specialist seating to support children with complex postural needs ranging from 0 to 18 years.
- Perform complex safety assessments to create safe spaces for children, considering options like fencing, padded rooms, locks, and specialist beds.
- Evaluate and recommend major adaptations such as Through Floor Lifts, additional toilets, specialist baths, showers, and other essential bathing equipment.

To qualify for this role, you must be registered with the HCPC. Being a car driver is essential for navigating the city's diverse home settings and providing thorough assessments across Manchester.
