What you will do:

- Undertake comprehensive mental health, clinical, and risk assessments, including evaluating risks related to suicide and self-harm.
- Develop, implement, and review individualised care and risk-management plans tailored to the specific needs of inmates.
- Provide therapeutic, recovery-focused interventions and promote health education and well-being among prisoners.
- Manage complex mental health presentations and ensure appropriate escalation of concerns when necessary.
- Offer support to inmates dealing with substance misuse, trauma, personality difficulties, and other complex mental health needs.
- Coordinate care to ensure smooth transitions and continuity between prison, hospital, and community services.
- Provide clinical leadership, advice, and supervision to nursing and healthcare colleagues.
- Contribute to safeguarding practices, clinical governance, audits, service development, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate clinical records while ensuring confidentiality and adhering to professional standards.
- Collaborate effectively with prison custody teams while upholding professional nursing boundaries and advocating for patients.
