Position Information
We are looking to recruit an experienced Occupational Therapist who must have experience of working clinically at Band 6 level or above in the NHS. A driving licence is essential, with access to a pool vehicle for domiciliary visits. If the locum brings their own vehicle, business mileage will be reimbursed at NHS Agenda for Change rates. Any candidate will require a valid PVG and must have current HCPC registration. The position includes providing predominantly out-patient Occupational Therapy with some in-patient and domiciliary visits. Experience in treating a variety of rheumatology and hand conditions, including splinting and neurological conditions, is desirable. The service is provided across the Western Isles, and travel for a clinic in the Southern Isles may be needed.

What you will do

• Provide expert assessment, planning, and intervention for patients with rheumatology and hand conditions.

• Design and implement personalised therapy programmes for diverse patient needs.

• Conduct thorough assessments and develop treatment plans that maximise independence and quality of life.

• Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic and comprehensive patient care.

• Offer patient education and advice to support ongoing rehabilitation.

• Travel as required to provide services across the Western Isles, including occasional clinics in the Southern Isles.

• Document patient progress accurately and maintain up-to-date records.
