Location: Ipswich, Suffolk (Hybrid Working)
Pay Rate: £35.44 per hour (PAYE) / £44.62 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: Temporary
Hours: 37 hours per week

Seven Resourcing are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join a newly developed Assessment & Intervention Team within Suffolk County Council Children’s Services. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a pilot service aligned to the Family First Partnership Programme, focused on early help, safeguarding children, and preventing escalation into statutory social work services.
The Role
As a Senior Social Worker, you will be based within a MASH-linked Assessment and Intervention team, carrying out timely assessments, undertaking direct work with children and families, and supporting early intervention strategies. You will play a key role in helping to establish and shape this new service model.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake Child and Family Assessments within statutory timescales
- Carry out home visits and direct work with children and families
- Work within a MASH/Front Door aligned Assessment & Intervention service
- Support early intervention to reduce escalation into long-term social work involvement
- Apply strong safeguarding children knowledge in all casework
- Produce high-quality analytical reports and case recordings
- Collaborate effectively with multi-agency professionals
- Manage a complex caseload and prioritise competing demands
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
- Significant experience within Children’s Social Care Assessment & Intervention teams
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding children procedures, MASH, and child protection processes
- Experience completing assessments and direct work with families
- Excellent assessment, analytical, and report writing skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced frontline environment
Working Pattern
- Hybrid working: 3 days office-based, 2 days remote
