This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to join the Children in Care Team in Bournemouth. You will support children and young people in care, ensuring they receive consistent, child‑centred support that promotes stability, wellbeing, and long‑term positive outcomes.
What you will do
- Manage a caseload of children and young people who are looked after, ensuring their needs are met and their voices are heard.
- Complete statutory assessments and develop high‑quality care and permanency plans tailored to individual circumstances.
- Build strong, effective relationships with children, carers, family members, and partner professionals.
- Monitor progress and outcomes for children, ensuring plans are reviewed and adapted as needed.
- Work collaboratively with education, health, placement providers, and other agencies.
- Ensure statutory visits, reviews, and documentation are completed accurately and within required timescales.
- Maintain clear, timely, and compliant case records in line with statutory guidance and local authority procedures.
Requirements
Essential:
- Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
- Minimum 3 years post‑qualification experience within a statutory Children’s Social Care setting in England.
- Strong experience working with Children in Care.
- Excellent assessment, communication, and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to manage complex cases effectively.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
