This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to join the Child Protection Team in Telford. You will work with children and families where there are significant safeguarding concerns, delivering robust statutory interventions to protect children and improve outcomes.

What you will do

• Manage a complex caseload of children subject to Child Protection plans.
• Undertake statutory safeguarding assessments, including Section 47 enquiries.
• Develop, implement, and review comprehensive child protection and care plans.
• Work directly with children and families to reduce risk and promote positive change.
• Attend and contribute to multi‑agency meetings, including strategy meetings and child protection conferences.
• Prepare detailed and evidence‑based reports for court and statutory forums.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant case records in line with statutory guidance.
• Ensure the child’s voice, wishes, and feelings are central to all decision‑making.

Requirements

Essential:

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Experience in safeguarding, child protection, and court‑related work.
• Strong understanding of the Children Act 1989, safeguarding procedures, and statutory guidance.
• Ability to manage complex and high‑risk cases effectively.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and report‑writing skills.

Desirable:

• Previous experience within a Child Protection or Safeguarding Team.
• Familiarity with local authority case management systems.
• Additional safeguarding or risk assessment training.
