What you will do

• Manage a caseload of looked after children, undertaking statutory visits, assessments, and reviews in line with the Children Act 1989 and associated guidance.

• Develop and progress care plans, including permanence planning such as reunification, long-term fostering, or adoption, ensuring plans are outcome-focused and regularly reviewed.

• Act as the child’s lead professional, coordinating multi-agency input and working closely with carers, education, and health partners.

• Prepare high-quality reports for statutory reviews and court proceedings, providing evidence-based recommendations.

Person Specification
Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent).

• Completion of Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) or equivalent experience.

Registration & Compliance

• Registered with Social Work England.

• Sound knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and 2004, Care Planning Regulations 2010, and Working Together to Safeguard Children guidance.

• Understanding of fostering, adoption, and permanence frameworks, including corporate parenting responsibilities.
