Join our Triage & Assessment Team in the heart of Aberaeron, Dyfed, where you'll earn a competitive £38.43 per hour, working Monday to Friday from 8:45 am to 5:00 pm, with a 37-hour workweek. Your expertise will help determine the future pathways for children and families in need, all while enjoying the flexibility of hybrid working – though some face-to-face assessments in the county will be required.

What you will do

• Undertake initial screening of referrals, applying local threshold criteria to determine appropriate pathways such as Early Help, Child in Need, or Section 47 enquiries.

• Complete statutory assessments under Section 17 and Section 47 of the Children Act 1989 within prescribed timescales, ensuring robust analysis of risk and need.

• Undertake strategy discussions and enquiries in partnership with Police, Health, and other agencies where safeguarding concerns are identified.

• Engage directly with children and families to gather information, assess risk, and inform evidence-based decision-making.

Person Specification
Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work (BA/MA or equivalent).

• Completion of ASYE or demonstrable post-qualifying experience in statutory children’s social care.

Registration & Compliance

• Registered with Social Work England.

• Strong working knowledge of the Children Act 1989/2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and statutory assessment frameworks.

• Understanding of local safeguarding procedures, information sharing protocols, and public law outline (PLO) processes.
