What you will do:
- Support the Assistant Director to develop and implement the Council's overall transformation programme, aligning with both corporate objectives and national best practices.
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for a portfolio of transformation projects, ensuring timely and quality delivery within budget.
- Champion effective change management methodologies, fostering a culture of innovation across the Council.
- Lead and cultivate a high-performing team of transformation professionals, including Delivery Managers, Project Managers, and Business Analysts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including the Chief Executive, Corporate Leadership Team, and other leaders to ensure a cohesive approach to transformation.
- Lead the delivery of complex organisational change programmes, guiding service improvement, transformation, and cultural change workstreams.
- Advise and support senior managers on strategic transformation, including exploring new models and best practices.
- Influence cultural and behavioural change through targeted service redesign and innovative change techniques.
- Collaborate closely with programme leadership and communication teams to ensure effective engagement and communication strategies.
- Deputise for the Assistant Director, Corporate Transformation when necessary and model the organisation's values.

Expertise required:
- Proven track record in delivering large-scale transformation programmes within local authorities.
- Strong experience managing high-performing teams and applying project management methodologies such as Prince2 and Agile.
- Profound understanding of local government challenges and the ability to translate strategic goals into practice.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a history of influencing senior stakeholders and driving culture change.
