What you will do

  • Deliver one-to-one housing advice and interventions for men on probation or in custody who are due for release into the community.
  • Conduct comprehensive housing needs assessments to identify support requirements and develop structured housing intervention plans.
  • Engage actively with Camau service objectives to prevent homelessness, improve housing options, and achieve project targets.
  • Contribute actively to team objectives and service delivery.
  • Build strong relationships with local authorities, landlords, Registered Social Landlords, and support agencies while ensuring accommodation meets health and safety standards.
  • Support service users by working collaboratively with Forward Connect and other relevant services, tailoring support to individual needs.

Requirements

  • A solid understanding of the Housing and Welfare Benefits system.
  • Experience advising clients on welfare benefits, housing, or rehousing.
  • Experience assessing adults for housing and social support needs.
  • Ability to develop detailed support plans to help sustain tenancies.
  • Knowledge of the challenges faced by individuals in abstinence-based recovery or those experiencing homelessness.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with adults experiencing multiple disadvantages, including unemployment, mental ill health, or substance use.
