This Category B remand prison requires a GP with the enthusiasm to provide care to male patients aged 21 and over, covering a broad spectrum of health needs, including substance misuse and long-term conditions. What you will do
- Provide high-quality healthcare to a diverse prison population, managing a broad range of clinical needs.
- Conduct clinical assessments and diagnoses, making informed and timely decisions regarding patient management.
- Act as a specialist clinical resource for patients and colleagues while contributing to clinical governance and service improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate first-night prescribing and urgent follow-up care in collaboration with senior nursing staff.
- Participate in substance misuse prescribing and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
Requirements
- MBChB or MBBS qualification.
- Inclusion on the General Medical Council (GMC) Register and the GP Performers List.
- Evidence of annual appraisals and ongoing continuing professional development.
- Experience working as a General Practitioner within community general practice.
- Experience supporting patients with a history of substance misuse.
- RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse Levels 1 and 2, or willingness to complete these qualifications.
