  • Multidisciplinary Working: Collaborate closely with mental health professionals, substance misuse teams, and wider healthcare colleagues.
  • Healthcare Admissions: Contribute to the assessment and healthcare planning of newly admitted patients.
  • Clinical Leadership: Act as a specialist resource for the healthcare team, sharing knowledge and expertise.
  • Clinical Governance: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and governance activities.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing learning to enhance both clinical and specialist practice.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Medical Qualification: MBChB, MBBS, or equivalent recognised medical degree.
  • GMC Registration: Full registration with the General Medical Council.
  • GP Performers List: Inclusion on the GP Performers List is essential.
  • Experience: Previous experience within community general practice.
  • Substance Misuse Knowledge: Experience working with substance misuse presentations is essential.
  • RCGP Qualifications: RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2 is desirable, or willingness to obtain these qualifications.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent clinical, communication, and decision-making abilities.
  • Compassionate Approach: Commitment to delivering inclusive, patient-centred healthcare.
