Pay Rates (Inclusive of Holiday Pay)

  • Weekday: £14.24 per hour
  • Weeknight: £14.57 per hour
  • Saturday Day: £14.57 per hour
  • Saturday Night: £15.13 per hour
  • Sunday Day: £15.13 per hour
  • Sunday Night: £15.69 per hour
  • Bank Holiday Day: £17.93 per hour
  • Bank Holiday Night: £17.93 per hour

The Role

Seven Resourcing is recruiting experienced Health Care Assistants to support a specialist Mixed Acute Mental Health Ward in Middleton St George.

You will support both male and female patients experiencing a range of acute mental health needs, providing compassionate care within a busy inpatient environment.

This role requires Healthcare Assistants who are adaptable, confident and able to provide high-quality support to individuals at different stages of their mental health journey. You will work closely with registered nurses and the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, recovery-focused care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred care and emotional support to patients with acute mental health needs.
  • Assist patients with personal care and daily living activities.
  • Develop positive and professional relationships with patients.
  • Monitor and report changes in patients' behaviour, mood and wellbeing.
  • Support recovery plans and therapeutic activities.
  • Encourage independence and patient involvement in care.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete care documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with nurses and healthcare professionals.
  • Promote a safe and inclusive ward environment.
  • Follow safeguarding, infection control and health and safety procedures.
  • Support patients experiencing distress or challenging behaviours using PMVA techniques.

Essential Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 months' recent experience working as a Health Care Assistant, Support Worker or Mental Health Support Worker.
  • Must have completed PMVA (Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression) training.
  • Previous experience within mental health, acute psychiatric or inpatient settings is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • A compassionate and patient-centred approach to care.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable or willingness to obtain one.
