Pay Rates (Inclusive of Holiday Pay)

  • Weekday: £14.24 per hour
  • Weeknight: £14.57 per hour
  • Saturday Day: £14.57 per hour
  • Saturday Night: £15.13 per hour
  • Sunday Day: £15.13 per hour
  • Sunday Night: £15.69 per hour
  • Bank Holiday Day: £17.93 per hour
  • Bank Holiday Night: £17.93 per hour

The Role

Seven Resourcing is recruiting experienced Health Care Assistants to support a specialist Male Medium Secure Forensic Unit in Middleton St George.

This role is ideal for Healthcare Assistants with experience supporting individuals with complex mental health needs, forensic backgrounds or challenging behaviours.

You will work as part of a dedicated clinical team providing structured support, promoting rehabilitation and helping patients progress through their recovery journey within a secure environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care and support to individuals with complex mental health needs.
  • Assist patients with daily routines and promote independence.
  • Support rehabilitation-focused activities and care plans.
  • Develop positive therapeutic relationships with patients.
  • Observe and report changes in behaviour and wellbeing.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and complete required documentation.
  • Work alongside nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Promote patient safety and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Support a positive and structured ward environment.
  • Follow safeguarding, infection control and health and safety procedures.
  • Manage challenging situations using appropriate de-escalation techniques.

Essential Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 months' recent experience working as a Health Care Assistant, Support Worker or Mental Health Support Worker.
  • PMVA training is a requirement.
  • Previous experience within mental health, psychiatric, acute or inpatient settings is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • A compassionate and patient-centred approach to care.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable or willingness to obtain one.
