What you will do:
- Respond to all calls as directed by the call centre
- Conduct clinical assessments and deliver high-standard care for individuals in police custody
- Assess whether detainees are fit for detention, interview, release, or transfer
- Provide healthcare interventions for minor illnesses or injuries and facilitate referrals for more serious conditions
- Perform forensic examinations and document injuries or collect DNA evidence when required
- Assess police officers or staff injured on duty and manage injuries appropriately
- Collect specimens in line with legal requirements
- Work within PACE legislation Code C
- Provide written statements normally within seven to ten days upon request
- Offer oral testimony in courts or tribunals as necessary
- Maintain comprehensive, accurate clinical records
- Evaluate intoxication levels and manage alcohol or drug withdrawal
- Conduct mental health and learning disability assessments as needed
- Collaborate on medical service development with the Clinical Lead and Head of Clinical Operations
- Fulfill duties as a Forensic Clinician in custody settings
- Adhere to all relevant legislation and maintain your clinical and forensic skills
- Promote policies like Equality and Diversity, Information Governance, and Safeguarding
- Use our RADAR system effectively
