What you will do
- Lead, manage and supervise a multidisciplinary team delivering statutory services for Children Looked After, Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children and Care Leavers.
- Ensure high-quality assessments, care planning, pathway planning and review processes in accordance with statutory timescales.
- Oversee complex casework, providing management oversight, reflective supervision and decision-making support.
- Promote permanence planning for looked after children, including long-term fostering, adoption and other permanency arrangements.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW or equivalent recognised qualification is essential.
- A management or leadership qualification is desirable.
Registration and Compliance
- Must be registered with Social Work England.
- Enhanced DBS clearance is required.
- Sound knowledge of:
- Children Act 1989 and 2004
- Children Leaving Care Act 2000
- Care Leavers Strategy and Statutory Guidance
- Working Together to Safeguard Children
- Corporate Parenting Principles
- Relevant legislation and guidance relating to Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children and asylum-seeking children
Experience
- Significant post-qualifying social work experience within children's services is required.
- Proven leadership or team management experience within sectors such as Children Looked After, Leaving Care or Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children services.
