What you will do

• Lead, manage and supervise a multidisciplinary team delivering statutory services for Children Looked After, Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children and Care Leavers.
• Ensure high-quality assessments, care planning, pathway planning and review processes in accordance with statutory timescales.
• Oversee complex casework, providing management oversight, reflective supervision and decision-making support.
• Promote permanence planning for looked after children, including long-term fostering, adoption and other permanency arrangements.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW or equivalent recognised qualification is essential.
• A management or leadership qualification is desirable.

Registration and Compliance

• Must be registered with Social Work England.
• Enhanced DBS clearance is required.
• Sound knowledge of:
  • Children Act 1989 and 2004
  • Children Leaving Care Act 2000
  • Care Leavers Strategy and Statutory Guidance
  • Working Together to Safeguard Children
  • Corporate Parenting Principles
  • Relevant legislation and guidance relating to Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children and asylum-seeking children

Experience

• Significant post-qualifying social work experience within children's services is required.
• Proven leadership or team management experience within sectors such as Children Looked After, Leaving Care or Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children services.
