What you will do

  • Manage Caseloads: Manage a caseload of service users with mental health needs, ensuring personalised and appropriate support.
  • Complete Assessments: Undertake Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions to promote recovery, independence, and wellbeing.
  • Deliver Treatment Plans: Develop, implement, and review person-centred treatment plans and recovery-focused interventions.
  • Manage Risk: Participate in risk assessments, risk management, and safeguarding processes to promote service user safety.
  • Promote Wellbeing: Support mental health promotion and wellbeing initiatives within the community.
  • Work Collaboratively: Work effectively within multidisciplinary and multi-agency teams to provide coordinated care.
  • Provide Specialist Advice: Offer Occupational Therapy advice and support to healthcare professionals and partner agencies.
  • Develop Services: Contribute to service development, evaluation, and pathway improvement activities.
  • Maintain Records: Keep accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical records and documentation.
  • Support Colleagues: Supervise students and provide guidance and support to junior staff.

Requirements

  • Professional Qualification: Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC Registration: Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Mental Health Experience: Previous experience working within Mental Health Occupational Therapy.
  • Caseload Management: Experience independently managing a clinical caseload and delivering therapeutic interventions.
  • Risk Management: Strong skills in risk assessment, safeguarding, and risk management.
  • Multidisciplinary Working: Ability to work effectively with healthcare professionals and partner agencies.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication, analytical, and clinical decision-making abilities.
  • IT Skills: Basic IT skills for maintaining clinical documentation.
  • Travel: Ability to travel independently as required by the role.

Desirable Requirements

  • Group Interventions: Previous experience delivering therapeutic group interventions.
  • Service Development: Experience contributing to service improvement or development activities.
  • Mentorship: Mentorship qualification or willingness to undertake relevant training.
  • Postgraduate Study: Relevant postgraduate qualification or specialist clinical training.
