What you will do:
- Assess the needs of adults with learning disabilities and those transitioning to adulthood, ensuring a supportive and empowering approach
- Collaborate with various agencies and professionals to establish comprehensive support plans
- Engage with families and social networks to enhance the support structures for individuals
- Ensure adherence to legal requirements, understanding and applying the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS)
- Manage case loads effectively, maintaining accurate records and reports
- Participate actively in court proceedings as needed, demonstrating robust knowledge in legal matters
- Advocate for a strengths-based approach, empowering clients to reach their full potential

Requirements of the Social Worker:
You must have a degree or equivalent qualification in social work with current Social Work England registration. Your experience should be significant in UK's social services, particularly working with individuals having learning disabilities and those transitioning to adulthood. A solid background in legal practices relevant to MCA and DoLS is essential, with court experience being advantageous. Your practice should be robust, exemplifying strength-based approaches and effective management of casework.
