Adults Social Worker within the Learning Disabilities Team in Redcar & Cleveland, earning £286.03 per day. What you will do:

  • Undertake comprehensive assessments of need in accordance with legislation, statutory guidance, and departmental procedures.

  • Manage a varied caseload as the allocated Social Worker, coordinating appropriate support and interventions.

  • Develop, implement, and review person-centred care and support plans.

  • Work closely with adults, families, carers, and advocates throughout assessment, planning, and review processes.

  • Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns in line with local and national safeguarding procedures.

  • Collaborate with colleagues across Adult Social Care, Health Services, voluntary sector organisations, and independent providers.

  • Manage complex cases, exercising professional judgement and autonomy where required.

  • Participate in safeguarding investigations and court-related work where necessary.

  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date case records and documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with Social Work England standards, legislation, policies, and professional best practice.

  • Promote independence, choice, control, and positive outcomes for adults with learning disabilities.

Person Specification:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work.

  • Current Social Work England registration.

  • Previous experience within Adult Social Care.

  • Strong knowledge of assessments, care planning, safeguarding, risk management, and relevant legislation.

  • Experience managing an independent caseload.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with partner agencies and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Experience within Learning Disabilities Services is highly desirable.
