What you will do:

  • Lead the effective monitoring and oversight of Elective Home Education arrangements across Coventry.

  • Maintain accurate records, reporting systems, and performance data relating to Elective Home Education cases.

  • Ensure statutory duties and responsibilities relating to Elective Home Education are delivered effectively and within required timescales.

  • Assess whether children are receiving a suitable education in accordance with relevant legislation and guidance.

  • Respond to requests relating to school placements, educational provision, and access to support services.

  • Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, ensuring children's wellbeing remains central to all decision-making.

  • Build positive working relationships with parents, carers, schools, education providers, and partner agencies.

  • Provide advice, support, and guidance to families regarding Elective Home Education requirements and responsibilities.

  • Prepare reports, statistical information, and management updates to support strategic decision-making and safeguarding processes.

  • Respond to enquiries from families, educational settings, health professionals, and other stakeholders.

  • Contribute to service development initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement in the delivery of Elective Home Education services.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Education, Social Care, Health Services, and safeguarding partnerships.

Requirements:

  • Experience working within Education, Children's Services, Safeguarding, Inclusion, or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of Elective Home Education legislation, guidance, and safeguarding responsibilities.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Experience managing records, reports, and case information accurately.

  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively.

  • Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to engage confidently with families, schools, and partner agencies.
