What you will do:

  • Manage a caseload of looked-after children, ensuring all statutory duties and responsibilities are fulfilled.
  • Complete comprehensive assessments, care planning, permanence planning, and pathway planning in line with legislative requirements.
  • Build effective relationships with children, families, foster carers, residential providers, and partner agencies.
  • Chair and contribute to statutory reviews, professional meetings, and multi-agency planning processes.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and analytical reports for reviews, court proceedings, and care planning meetings.

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

  • A recognised qualification such as a Degree in Social Work, BA (Hons) Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent is essential.

Registration & Compliance:

  • Current registration with Social Work England is essential.

Experience:

  • Experience working with looked-after children, children subject to care proceedings, or within a Children in Care service.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex caseloads within a local authority children's social care setting is preferred.
